For over 20 years, I negotiated high-value partnerships at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and business strategy — leading negotiations worth hundreds of millions of dollars at The Walt Disney Company, Fuse Media, and Discovery Communications. I structured licensing deals, resolved competing interests among senior stakeholders, and found paths forward when parties disagreed on what "fair" looked like.

That work taught me something that shapes everything I do now: the best outcomes rarely come from one side winning. They come from understanding what each party actually needs, then building toward a resolution that holds and finding creative solutions that create additional value for both sides.

In 2025, I channeled that experience into mediation, completing my training through Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation Mediation Intensive. In 2026 I continued my training through the King County (Seattle) Dispute Resolution Center, and Washington State's Family Law Mediation Certification. I founded AKP Mediation to bring that same rigor — active listening, creative problem-solving, and a deep respect for what's at stake for each party — to family and civil disputes.
